Challenge
Heavy equipment manufacturers often produce a wide variety of structural parts in small batches. Different models require different welding paths, making traditional robot programming time-consuming and difficult to scale. Components such as crane support plates also bring frequent changeovers and complex weld positions that challenge conventional robotic welding.
Solution
SPEEDBOT developed a teach-free robotic welding solution that combines 3D vision, AI-based weld-seam recognition and intelligent path planning. The system scans each workpiece and automatically generates a welding path, allowing the robot to adapt to parts of different sizes and structures without manual programming.

Results
The solution helped the manufacturer achieve:
- Shorter programming and commissioning time for new products
- Greater flexibility for small-batch production
- Consistent welding quality across different parts
The project shows how intelligent welding can automate complex manufacturing scenarios that were previously difficult to automate.
